Schwabing

Around 1900, Schwabing was the center of Munich's bohemian scene, attracting artists, writers and cabaret performers such as Frank Wedekind. Today, cafés, bookshops and the lively Leopoldstraße around Münchner Freiheit define the quarter, which remains known for its creative, student-filled atmosphere.
