Monopteros

Monopteros was built in 1836 by Leo von Klenze, commissioned by King Ludwig I, as a Greek-style rotunda atop an artificially raised hill in the English Garden. From the temple's steps, visitors enjoy a sweeping view across the park's meadows toward the Munich skyline - a popular gathering spot, especially in the evening.
