Old Botanical Garden

The Old Botanical Garden was laid out in 1814 on Sophienstraße and served as Munich's botanical garden until 1909, when the collection moved to the new, larger botanical garden near Nymphenburg Palace. Since then the grounds have served as a public park near the main train station, retaining a few historic garden structures and a memorial fountain.
